Eric is a contemporary spirit evoked through a painted fencing mask. The mask is the core element of the project and through it comes to light a spiritual dimension proper of our time. In each show, the mask is exposed as a residual totemic sculpture always in dialogue with a video in which a performer is filmed while wearing the mask and its attributes. As happens into the primitive-archaic cultures, also the performer, like the warlock, loses his identity to assume the attitudes evoked by this spirit.
Eric è uno spirito contemporaneo evocato attraverso una maschera da scherma dipinta. La maschera è l’elemento centrale del progetto e attraverso di essa viene alla luce una dimensione spirituale propria del nostro tempo. In ogni mostra la maschera viene esposta come una scultura residuale totemica in dialogo con un video in cui un performer viene filmato mentre indossa la maschera. Come avviene nelle culture primitivo-arcaiche anche il performer, come lo stregone, perde la sua identità per assumere gli atteggiamenti di questo spirito.
